The application is a production web platform that connects customers with verified personal/party chefs for private events. Users can browse chef profiles by location and cuisine, review minimum order expectations, explore chef packages and party-helper add-ons, and submit enquiries or requests to book services for occasions like dinner parties, celebrations, and corporate gatherings. Our focus was on validating real-world booking journeys and ensuring reliable behavior across browsers and devices.

Securing Revenue-Critical Booking Journeys

Data Integrity Problem
In a chef-booking marketplace, even minor functional gaps can disrupt revenue-critical journeys, such as chef discovery, profile viewing, package selection, enquiry submission, and user onboarding. The platform offers multiple service layers (chef packages and party helper packages), and customers expect accurate information, smooth navigation, and reliable forms across devices. Since the product was already live, testing had to identify defects without destabilizing production while ensuring consistent experiences in major browsers.

End-to-End Validation

We designed and executed comprehensive end-to-end test scenarios covering the complete user lifecycle from landing page access to chef profile exploration, package review, and enquiry submission. Our focus was on validating business-critical workflows to ensure booking journeys functioned reliably under real-world conditions. We assessed navigation logic, call-to-action consistency, and inter-page transitions to eliminate friction points. Each scenario was executed with positive, negative, and edge case inputs to confirm stability across functional layers in the production environment.

Marketplace Flow Testing

As a two-sided service marketplace, the platform required rigorous validation of discovery and decision flows. We tested chef listing behaviour, profile drilldowns, content accuracy, and booking initiation pathways. Special attention was given to ensuring that pricing cues, minimum order expectations, and package descriptions remained consistent across pages. We validated that enquiry forms captured data accurately and that submission workflows behaved correctly without data loss, duplication, or validation gaps.

Cross-Platform Compatibility

To ensure a consistent experience for customers planning private events, we performed structured cross-browser and multi-device testing. The application was validated across major browsers and responsive breakpoints to confirm layout stability, interactive element functionality, and UI consistency. We verified that forms, navigation menus, accordions, and CTAs performed reliably across screen sizes, preventing conversion-impacting usability issues.

Defect Lifecycle Management

Our QA team identified and documented 76 functional defects during execution. Each issue was classified by severity and business impact, accompanied by detailed reproduction steps and environment context. We collaborated closely with the development team in Agile sprints to validate fixes and conduct regression cycles. Post-fix validation ensured no reoccurrence or side effects in related modules, strengthening overall release quality and reducing production risk.
