Our client a publicly listed company with billion dollar market cap, they had an aggressive action plan to migrate from XML to JSON. The requirement was to automate API’s which has OAuth2 & SSO Authentications and validate the response of both types (XML & JSON).
Client recommended us to use a single script to validate XML & JSON responses and also wanted to execute the automated regression tests on every build.
Solutions
- We successfully applied our strategy to handle OAuth authentication.
- We used Regular expressions extractor to extract the token and session ids.
- We Automated the API tests to create and run scripts that require regular API calls and minimized their manual effort.
- We Automated 2000 API tests thereby reducing 6 hours of time on validation testing (to validate the response in an appropriate format).
